247ch.at is a live chat widget plus an operator desktop app. We try to collect the minimum we need to run the service and keep your account safe. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. In plain English, not legalese.
What we collect
- Your account: email address and a hashed password (or your Google account ID if you signed up with Google).
- Your sites: the domains you configure for the widget, plus any branding settings.
- Chat transcripts: the messages visitors send through the widget and your replies. Stored so you can scroll back and so AI replies on Pro have context.
- Operator session data: the IP address you connect from when running the desktop app, basic device info, and a session token.
- Billing data (Pro only): Stripe handles payment processing. We store your Stripe customer ID and plan status. We never see or store your full card number or Cash App PIN.
Why we collect it
- To operate the service — route messages between visitors and you, keep you signed in, restore transcripts when you reopen the app.
- To bill you correctly if you're on Pro.
- To prevent fraud and abuse (rate limiting, suspending compromised accounts).
- To send you transactional email — verification, password reset, billing receipts, and the offline-message ping on Pro.
Who we share with
- Stripe — payment processing for Pro subscribers. See stripe.com/privacy.
- Anthropic / OpenAI — when you're on Pro and AI auto-reply is on, the visitor's message and recent transcript are sent to the AI model provider to generate a reply. They process the data and don't use it for training under our API agreement.
- Email provider — for transactional email delivery (verification, receipts, offline pings).
- Nobody else. We don't sell your data, your visitors' messages, or your contact info to advertisers, brokers, or anyone else. Ever.
How long we keep it
- Visitor chat transcripts: 90 days by default, or until you delete them from the dashboard.
- Your user account: kept as long as your account exists. Delete the account and we wipe it within 30 days.
- Billing records: Stripe retains payment data per their own policy. We keep your subscription history for 7 years for tax purposes.
Your rights
You can access, export, or delete your data any time. Email support@247ch.at from your account email and we'll handle it within 7 days. EU/UK/California residents have specific rights under GDPR/CCPA — same email, same process.
Cookies
We use one session cookie to keep you signed in to the dashboard. The widget optionally drops a small cookie on the sites where it's embedded so a returning visitor lands back in the same conversation. No third-party trackers, no ad pixels.
Children
247ch.at is not directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has signed up, email us and we'll delete the account.
